The Word of Life - Family Life Change Scholarship Application

INFORMATION & OBJECTIVE
The Family Camp scholarship offered by Word of Life provides financial assistance for families who may not be able to afford the full cost of attending their family camp programs. These scholarships are typically awarded based on financial need, and they aim to ensure that all families can participate in the experiences offered at Word of Life camps. Families interested in applying for the scholarship need to complete an application process, which involves providing information about their financial situation. Once awarded, the scholarship covers a portion or the entirety of the camp fees, allowing families to enjoy a meaningful and memorable experience together without financial burden.

APPLICATION PROCESS
This application form must be completed and submitted to Word of Life. Applications are reviewed, and you will be notified of the decision by email. The deposit must be paid when the reservation is made. Applications will be approved as funds are available. Periodically, we can grant additional scholarships as funds become available through cancellations. Please apply early!

ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP
Evidence of lack of funds – Please include an explanation of the need and proof of income (which can be a copy of the first page of your tax form for the current year, social security benefits, child support, unemployment, or government assistance, or bank statements or pay stubs, etc.) Applications without this information will not be processed. All income information will be held in the strictest confidence. Please make sure all social security numbers and bank account/routing numbers are removed.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Word of Life provides a 50% scholarship for the family's reservation camp fees, and the family is responsible for the balance. Word of Life bases its decision to grant a scholarship based on the need. Other factors may be involved; therefore, each request is considered individually.

RESTRICTIONS
1. Scholarships are issued per family for one week or weekend of family camp. 
2. Scholarships awarded may be applied toward any week or weekend of family camp - based on availability. 
3. Scholarships cannot be combined with any other camp discounts. 
4. Scholarships do not cover additional charges or programs. 

WORD OF LIFE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO FORFEIT A SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
1. Misrepresentation – A family who intentionally misrepresents conditions or circumstances claiming a financial need, and Word of Life becomes aware that a need does not exist.
2. No Response – A family is required to register for camp within 30 days of being notified they were granted a scholarship. Please contact the camp registrar if you are unable to meet this deadline.
